Winery of the Year — Vinitaly 2023
An accolade that celebrates the excellence and identity of Al-Cantàra wines within the Italian wine landscape.
Etna and its treasures
Our winery makes its home on Europe's tallest active volcano, where volcanic soils and a singular climate give life to an original terroir, with ancient roots reaching back to the Greek era.
The character of this land is reflected in the native grape varieties: each one bottles the essence of Etna and transforms it into organoleptic experiences of great character.
Nerello Mascalese
The "king" of Etna wines: elegance, structure, minerality.
Nerello Cappuccio
Colour and softness, the perfect complement to Mascalese.
Carricante
Volcanic minerality and remarkable longevity.
Harvest at 700 m a.s.l.
Here every bottle is a story, every label a work of art, and every sip an experience rooted in the soul of Etna.
A bridge between wine, art and Sicilian literature
Labels signed by Sicilian artists
Every wine, a poem
Every label is a work of art created by talented Sicilian artists, and each one tells a poem that bears the name of the wine.
The names of the wines draw inspiration from poems by illustrious Sicilian authors — Nino Martoglio, Luigi Pirandello, Giovanni Verga — making every bottle a story that celebrates the culture of the island.
Wine, art and poetry →A vision by Pucci Giuffrida
Al-Cantàra is not only a winery: it is a project in which art and poetry intertwine with winemaking tradition.
Founded in 2005 by Pucci Giuffrida, every aspect of production is guided by a strong cultural and creative philosophy. «Al-Cantàra, poetry to drink»: wines that tell stories of life, art and territory.

Our wines
Fifteen labels, largely vinified as single varietals from Etna's native grapes. Plus grappas and an extra virgin olive oil, each with its own name in dialect and its own poem.
